KAMALANI DUNG
Born in Waianae, Hawai‘i on March 4, 1997, Kamalani Dung is widely recognized as one of the most dominant softball pitchers out of Hawaii. Kamalani’s powerful athleticism and magnetic personality helped shape an unforgettable legacy both on and off the field.
Kamalani rose to national attention after a standout collegiate career landing her in the record books and among the top ranked in the nation at Fresno State and the University of California, Berkeley, where she was recognized for her fire, precision, and relentless drive. She was selected to the Puerto Rican National Team, earning international medals and representing the island at World and Olympic events. Over the course of her career, she made history as the first woman from Hawai‘i to pitch professionally for Athletes Unlimited Softball League, competing at the highest levels in both the U.S. and abroad.
She is one of the most decorated softball players to emerge from the islands, known not only for her impact on the mound, but for helping elevate visibility and opportunity for women in sports.
Kamalani's off-field accomplishments rival her athletic success. Through, brand campaigns, public speaking, modeling, acting, fashion, media, and entrepreneurship, she has helped redefine what it means to be a modern female athlete. She currently plays professionally and internationally.
Community remains a central focus. Kamalani’s connection to her community in Hawai‘i has fueled her work with Kama Training and her nonprofit foundation, where she provides mentorship, training, and access for underserved youth across the Pacific. Kamalani is a national supporter and spokesperson for the Feeding America Affiliate, the Hawaii Foodbank.
